Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones went above and beyond for a young Reds fan after the Merseyside club played Arsenal in the Carabao Cup at Anfield.
Jones, who grew up on Merseyside before breaking into the first team as a teenager, responded to the supporter's calls from the stands while he was warming down after coming on as a substitute in the goalless draw, and threw a match ball in their direction.
However, seconds after the gesture, a steward took the ball away from the child, with the footage of the incident later surfacing on social media.
Jones made amends, though, ensuring he did everything he could to rectify the situation and then some, and the 20-year-old was praised by Reds' fans online for his gesture.

"So out [of] touch it’s unreal," a Twitter user said while sharing a video of the incident, claiming the child in question was six years old.
The message appeared to get back to the Liverpool midfielder, though, with Jones doing his bit after the game to ensure the situation was resolved.
"The kid got to stay behind in the stadium, received another ball and got a picture. All sorted... YNWA!" the academy graduate tweeted after the game.
There were suggestions the child photographed with Jones wasn't the same one from the original video, but Jones' gesture still received praise from supporters.
"Proud of you there lad, we knew you’d sort it," one fan wrote, while another said "Well done Curtis absolutely know The values of The Club."
There were also calls for the midfielder to get a run in the side after his on-field contribution, with one fan saying "Good to have you back on the pitch" and another saying "You made a big difference tonight hope you start next week".
Jones was making his third appearance of 2022 after spending more than a month on the sidelines due to injury and illness.
The 20-year-old returned as a late substitute in the Premier League draw against Chelsea, and played the full 90 minutes as a much-changed Liverpool team beat Shrewsbury Town in the third round of the FA Cup.
He started on the bench against Arsenal on Thursday night, but came on for the final half-hour as Jurgen Klopp's side tried and failed to find a breakthrough against 10-man Arsenal.
Liverpool's next game comes against Brentford on Sunday, and Klopp confirmed their were "no new real injuries" when giving his pre-match press conference.
"Knocks last night [for Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson and James Milner] but directly after the game, [the] medical team said all are fine."
It was Milner who went off for Jones on the hour mark, and both will be vying for a starting spot with Naby Keita away at the Africa Cup of Nations.
If Jones gets the nod, it will be his first Premier League start since the 2-2 draw with Brighton on October 30.
