'Cursed' Rufus Hound suffers streak of bad luck flukes ahead of Dancing On Ice debut

Rufus Hound has been all out of luck recently.

The Dancing On Ice newbie and comedian tweeted that he's been plagued by ill fortune in a number of weird circumstances before he makes his skating debut on tonight's show.

The opening episode will welcome a brand new roster of celebs into the rink to brighten up our Sunday evening now we're in lockdown again.

Among those is funnyman Rufus, who joked that he'd been "cursed" as he listed his recent misfortunes.

"For anyone keeping tabs on whether or not I'm cursed," Rufus tweeted, "Got my performance brought forward by a week.

"Got a puncture yesterday on M11. 7.30am call for a 6pm show. Just had the spare tyre explode after going over a pothole.

"Will shortly have to ice dance on national television."

But the list went on, Rufus adding underneath: "Had about 20 minutes of fretful sleep. Cannot runaway."

It's not clear which of the other celebs will be skating with Rufus this evening.

Six of the 12 total famous faces will take to the ice, with the remaining six doing the same next week.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are back as co-hosts this evening, while Christopher Dean, Jayne Torvill, John Barrowman and Ashley banjo return to judging duties - albeit with perspex screens between them.

Fans breathed a sigh of relief as ITV announced they were able to pull it off in a Covid-safe way, which includes social distancing on set.

The new series will also debut a Golden Ticket twist for the judges.
