Currys warning after Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryers 'on sale' for £1.78

Currys has issued a warning to customers after appearing to sell Dyson Supersonic hairdryers for £1.78.

Ads have appeared on Facebook showing a post, posing as Currys , promoting the offer.

The post reads: "1 in 3 girls will get a hairdryer for £1.78! Two big companies have decided to break sales records for the famous hairdryer."

A picture then shows boxes of Dyson Supersonic hairdryers with a Currys-branded poster stating the price of the appliance has dropped from £299 to £1.78.

The company's Facebook profile also shows the Currys logo.

But shoppers have been warned this is a scam.

Twitter users took to ask Currys' official support team whether the Facebook post was real.

One said: "@currys Hi just saw this on FB is it a scam or is a real offer. Seems too good to be true."

Currys replied saying the offer was 'not real' as they branded the post 'a scam'.

They said: "Hi, unfortunately, this is not a real offer from Currys and is a scam post going around, I can only apologise for this and any inconvenience caused."

A second message from Curry's Twitter added: "We can confirm we're not affiliated with this page. Feel free to report it to Facebook, we'll do the same."

Dyson Supersonic hair dryer retails for £299.99 in most high-street stores.
