Curry's staff turn up to work to find laptops and TVs have vanished

Burglars stole a haul of laptops and TVs after breaking into a Curry’s store.

The thieves struck overnight at the shop, at Southport ’s Meols Cop Retail Park, with staff arriving to find the damage on Friday morning.

It has since been cordoned off by police and remains closed today while forensic investigations are carried out.

Detectives are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesman said: “At 8.00am, officers were called to Curry’s on Meols Cop Retail Park to reports of a break-in, believed to have occurred overnight. A large number of TVs and laptops were taken after entry was forced.

“CCTV and forensic enquiries are ongoing at the location while we look to establish the full circumstances.”

Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity overnight, or has heard any information since, can contact @MerPolCC or 101 with reference 223 of 6 December. You can also pass information via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. You can also use their online form, available at: https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/give-information.
