Curry parents say they will flip a coin before each game to pick which son to root for

Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors will host Seth Curry and the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals on Tuesday night.

It will be the first time to brothers will face each other with a trip to the NBA Finals on the line.

Sitting in the crowd at Oracle Arena will be their parents, Dell and Sonya Curry who have figured out a way to choose which son they’re going to cheer for in each game – they’re going to flip a coin.

That will let each parent know which jersey and son each parent will be cheering on. The Currys told ESPN:

“It’s a first experience for all of us,” (Dell Curry) added. “Biggest thing is we are trying to decide who represents who.”

Sonya Curry has a solution for which parent will wear Blazers colors and which will wear Warriors gear.

“We are flipping a coin every game,” she said.

Sonya Curry added:

“It’s fun,” she said, repeatedly calling this a blessing. “It is, really. I actually look forward to watching Seth and doing that. I want him to steal the ball and want him to shoot over Stephen and all that good stuff. I want him to have his moments too.

“It’s cool. It’s such a blessing to just be able to watch this and experience all this.”

Steph Curry talked about it on Monday, calling the situation a ‘win-win’ for their parents:

And his mom agreed, telling ESPN: “One of them might go home. But we’re going to the championship!”

Not a bad problem to have.
