The buzz around Steph Curry potentially passing Ray Allen for the NBA’s all-time most made 3-pointers will continue to linger for another game.
Heading into Saturday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers, Curry needed to drill 10 triples to become the NBA’s leader in most made 3-pointers. However, a fierce defensive effort from Matisse Thybulle and the Sixers held the Golden State Warriors point guard in check.
Curry only hit a trio of triples on the way to scoring 18 points on 6-of-20 shooting from the field. The seven-time All-Star finished the contest shooting an uncharacteristic 3-of-14 from deep.

With Curry quiet, the performances of Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins weren’t enough to pace the Sixers. Behind 26 points from Joel Embiid, the 76ers handed the Warriors their fifth loss on the season, 102-93.
With the record in reach, Curry has shot 9-of-31 from long distance over the last two games. On Monday, the 33-year-old will need seven 3-pointers against the Indiana Pacers to become the NBA’s new all-time leader from beyond the arc.
If Curry doesn’t drill all seven in Indiana, he will have the opportunity to break the record at Madison Square Garden in the big apple against the New York Knicks on Tuesday.
Allen sits in first place with 2,973 on the NBA’s all-time made 3-pointer list. Curry is looming right behind him with 2,967. Tipoff in Indiana is set for 4 p.m. PT on Monday.
