Current, former Giants react to Sterling Shepard’s contract extension

The New York Giants and wide receiver Sterling Shepard are finalizing a four-year, $41 million contract extension that will keep him in East Rutherford through the 2023 season.

The deal is much-needed for the Giants, not only because it’ll keep Shep in town for the foreseeable future, but because it sends a message to the locker-room that there is some structure to this rebuild.

After word of Shepard extension spread, several current and former Giants hit social media to express their excitement and appreciation for the young receiver.

His good buddy, Odell Beckham Jr., was among the very first.

In addition to being an extremely solid player on the field, Shepard is widely respected off of it. So it should come as little surprise that both his current and former teammates are elated for his new deal.

Expect more teammates to react to Shepard’s extension throughout the day on Thursday.
