Trust Frenetic to retain her unbeaten record for Ger Lyons and Colin Keane in the Group 2 Airlie Stud Stakes at the Curragh.
The Kodiac filly renews debut rivalry with chief danger Mother Earth and is expected to prove her star quality.
The pair clashed at Navan last month, when Colin Keane soon had the selection in front en route to a convincing victory, achieved, eased down, by a length and three-quarters.
That win was achieved over a distance short of six furlongs.
And, when she reappeared, in the listed First Flier Stakes at the Curragh on Derby weekend, Frenetic (top) looked a real speed-ball, racing alone up the stands side and bolting-up by five lengths from Mooneista (let the form down in Cork) and subsequent winner Eastern Voice.
Meanwhile, the Ballydoyle filly Mother Earth was a bit unlucky in running when finishing a distant third to subsequent Group 2 winner Dandalla in the Albany at Royal Ascot and, last time, the daughter of Zoffany powered up the hill at Naas to slam one of tomorrow’s rivals Sussex Garden by four lengths in a Group 3 fillies event.
It promises to be a fascinating re-match and, although Mother Earth has clearly improved since their clash in Navan, I expect Frenetic to confirm her superiority.
Lyons is aiming Lemista at the Group 2 Kilboy Estate Stakes, rather than letting her take her chance in today’s Juddmonte Irish Oaks.
And, despite reservations about her ability to handle fast ground, the daughter of Raven’s Pass gets the vote.
Already a listed and Group 3 winner this season, she won the McCalmont at Gowran Park last time, she looks progressive and should prove a tough nut to crack.
Dangers include One Voice, which beat Snow by a half-length in the Group 3 Blue Wind at Naas last time and the progressive Ballydoyle filly Lovelier, winner of the listed Cairn Rouge at Killarney last Monday.
The Group 2 Holden Plant Rentals Sapphire Stakes, is likely to be fought out by supplementary entries, Denis Hogan’s Make A Challenge and British raider A’Ali, representing Simon and Ed Crisford and the mount of Colin Keane.
Make A Challenge scored at listed level over course and distance last time but must concede weight to his six rivals.
And he might not cope with A’Ali, a three-time winner at Group 2 level as a juvenile and successful last time in the Coral Charge at Sandown.
