'Cunning' Sergio Ramos knew what he was doing vs Liverpool with 'masterstroke' Mohamed Salah injury

Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has reignited the debate surrounding Mohamed Salah's injury in the Champions League final against Real Madrid by suggesting Sergio Ramos intended to harm him.

Salah was forced off early during the 2018 Champions League final in Kiev following a challenge from Ramos, with the Spanish side going on to lift the trophy.

Ramos has been vilified by Liverpool fans in the years since the incident and, while some may have forgotten, Chiellini's comments will certainly revive the controversy.

According to the Italian defender, Ramos knew exactly how to injure a player in this way and had previously spoken about taking such actions.

"They can say that he (Ramos) is impulsive, not tactical at all, that because of him 8 or 10 goals are conceded per season and if I cause two or three I do not live anymore, that he is very technical and could be a striker, we are the opposites," he wrote in his autobiography, as reported by AS.

"However, he has two characteristics that almost nobody has. Knowing how to be decisive in important games, with interventions beyond any logic, even with injuries that he causes with almost diabolical cunning.

“Salah's was a masterstroke. He, the teacher Sergio, always said that he did not want to, but he was aware that falling that way and without leaving that grip, nine times out of ten you can break your rival's arm.”
