Cumberland paper raises £300,000

The Cumberland News may have just 35,307 buyers a week, but it sure can raise money. The paper announced today that it, in just a year, it has raised £300,000 for its "Have a heart" campaign. The money will pay for essential echocardiograph machines at the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle. "We're very proud of the achievement," says editor Neil Hodgkinson.
