MUSICIAN Kris Lennox has tinkered around the ivories of his beloved piano all over the world.
The 26-year-old regularly performs private recitals in glamorous locations including Monaco, St Petersburg and Japan.
And he is set to play a concert at Culzean Castle on Friday, September 26.
Kris, of Campbell Avenue, Stevenston, also has an album, Dedication, under his belt and is now passing on his knowledge and musical talents to pupils throughout Ayrshire.
The former Royal Sco ttish Academy for Music and Drama graduate, trains students in piano and guitar and while he teaches from his home six days a week, he is about to start lessons at RGM Music in Kilmarnock to make sure he meets even more budding musicians.
“I enjoy teaching, it’s great to see the kids progress and learn more about their instrument,” said Kris.
“I have spent my whole life being involved in music, when I was at school I would get up two hours earlier than I had to just to play piano or guitar.
“I just love music and always wanted to try and make a living out of it, there’s no other job I could do, so I decided that I can always live on baked beans if I have to as long as I’m making music.
“I like everything, from Bach to Death Metal.”
He has a 100 per cent student pass rate and just recently six pupils – Kieran Breen, Sean McCallum, Alan Richardson, Lauren Higgins, Georgia Imrie and Nathan Howie scored with pass marks ranging from 88 to 97 per cent.
Kris went on: “They all work so hard and enjoy playing, it’s great to see them achieve good grades.”
But when he’s not playing, Kris relaxes by climbing mountains or learning languages.
He speaks fluent Russian and is trying to crack Japanese.
“I see languages like scores of music, that’s a language too and I love learning new things so it suits me to try and learn new words and phrases.”
