AKRON, Ohio — There's a cabernet from Lodi, California, that has quite a cult following. Joining this cult comes with no strings attached, except for $19.99 and a love for a good bottle of cabernet.
I got a chance to try a bottle of the 2019 Cult Cabernet to see what all the commotion was about.
The label is certainly an eye-catcher. So is the wine's bright ruby color. A few swirls reveal dried cranberry and raspberry aromas. It's such an easy-drinking wine. And I love the velvety finish.
For starters, I rounded up a few feta-stuffed olives. I'm always nibbling on something while I sip on my wine. These olives are a great companion for this blend of 92% cabernet and 8% syrah. A hunk of Steve's cave aged Gouda from Mustard Seed Market really hit the spot for me.
I had a glass with a $11 carry-out order of short rib sliders from Moe's Restaurant in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. They were out-of-this-world delicious. Love the crispy onions on top and the oh-so-fresh slider buns. They paired together like Cheech and Chong.
This is a cult we all can enjoy.
