Culmore Road crash near primary school as police arrest six people

Six people have been arrested after a car crashed into a wall beside a school.

The incident happened at 9.50am this morning on the Culmore Road near Culmore Primary School in Derry.

Although details of what happened remain unclear at this stage, local SDLP councillor Angela Dobbins said it's a worrying incident given the proximity to the school.

Smart Motorway safety fears after two fatal crashes

She told Belfast Live: "It's very worrying, I understand it happened around 10am this morning but if it had been any earlier youngsters would have been heading towards school and that's a very worrying thought of what could have happened.

"We don't know why or what happened at this stage... or any further details but it's worrying anywhere no matter where it happens but in such close proximity to a school it's more worrying."
