'Cull the presenters' - ITV Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway and Ben Shepherd's huge mix-up

Good Morning Britain presenting duo Kate Garraway and Ben Shepherd were left thoroughly confused after a big mix-up.

The incident led the pair to jokingly say they should be "culled".

Confusion arose during a segment on whether seagulls should be culled after a recent disturbing incident with a dog, reports the Liverpool Echo .

A chihuahua pup was preyed upon by the birds and carried off to the anger of its owner.

The four-year-old dog called Gizmo was in a garden when a seagull swooped down flew away with the small pup in its beak.

Gizmo’s owner, Becca Hill, 24, is hoping the power of social media and the press will help reunite her with her dog.

But confusion over what viewers think of the issue led to a breakdown in communication in the studio.

Ben asked viewers: "Should there be a seagull cull as you have a lot around the country, and they are spreading?

"Lots of people around the coast will be very conscious of this, but should seagulls be protected?

"We've been running a poll on this, let's have a look."

Ben went on to reveal that 61% of viewers thought that seagulls should be culled, however Kate interrupted and said 61% said they should be protected.

This led to an awkward moment of silence as the pair tried to work out the correct statistics.

Ben said: "We will work out what the question is and then we will tell you.

"61 percent say something... we should cull the presenters."
