Cuddly coo toy stolen days before it was set to be used as Royal Highland Show raffle prize

A 4ft cuddly coo which was set to be used as a star raffle prize at this year's Royal Highland show has been stolen by cruel crooks.

The soft toy, which is worth £750 and called Big H, would have helped fund a Christmas dinner for 100 people who would have otherwise spent the day alone.

It was stolen from the car of photographer Gary Thomson as it was parked in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, between 6pm and 7pm on Monday. He was due to do a photoshoot with the coo before the big event.

The Daily Record reports that Big H is one just 12 cuddly coos of that size in circulation. It is owned by a community interest company who aim to fund social projects called Silver Stag of Scotland.

The owners are appealing for its return "so he can do the good he is meant to".

Police are investigating the theft.
