'Cuddling' thieves caught on CCTV raiding Scots business amid Christmas Day break-in spree

Several businesses at a Scots industrial estate were targeted by sick thieves between Christmas and Boxing Day - two of whom seemed to find time to stop for a cuddle.

CCTV from Valhalla Gym shows two thugs appearing to share an embrace inside the building, in Forfar's Orchardbank Industrial Estate, at around 1.30am.

At least four thieves targeted businesses in the Angus industrial park in the late hours of Christmas Day and the early hours of December 26.

Posting images of the swaddling swindlers on Facebook on Boxing Day, Valhalla bosses said: "Unfortunately last night four units, including our own, at Gordon Park, Orchardbank Industrial Estate, Forfar were broken into.

"We are appealing for any information that anyone can help provide regarding this incident and the identification of the individuals in question.

"There is a reward available for this information.

"All gym equipment remains completely fine and the gym is open to members as usual.

"I think we can all agree that it takes a special class of individual to behave like this, especially in the festive period."

Several other businesses were hit during the break-in, including an agricultural supply firm and a local coach hire firm.

CCTV released by local businessman Jason Rodger appears to show four other thieves breaking into JP Coaches.

The gang in the footage appears to be carrying crowbars and other tools to spring doors open.

They made off with a quantity of cash, some CCTV recorders and a branded Ford Ranger pick-up truck.

Colin Duncan, managing director of Dunmor Agri, says "well into four figures" worth of cash has been stolen from his agricultural supply business.

He believes the thieves were looking for hard cash rather than valuables.

Colin told Dundee Live : "It was about 1am when it happened - we've got bits of CCTV from the bus garage and the gym but they took the rest.

"We closed up at 2pm on Christmas Eve and the banks are all closed at that time.

"I didn't want to carry that much cash with me so I stashed it around the place but they've had a good rake through and got most of it."

He added: "We had the crime squad in from the police yesterday doing fingerprints and dusting but we haven't heard anything yet about what they've found.

"We need to get as much information as we can together as soon as possible.

Police are continuing to appeal for information following the series of thefts.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a number of break-ins and attempted break-ins to units at Orchardbank Industrial Estate in Forfar during the morning of Sunday December 26.

"The incidents happened over the previous night and inquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 0929 of 26 December."
