It has been 15 years since Queer as Folk, Russell T Davies’ first drama about gay men in the UK, first hit our screens. Now he’s back to tell another set of stories with Cucumber, Banana and Tofu. Here’s the first trailer for the trilogy, which is resolutely and reassuringly NSFW.

Cucumber and Banana are two original drama series. Cucumber follows 46-year-old Henry and his long-term boyfriend Lance in the aftermath of “the worst date night in history” and will air on Channel 4. Banana, which will be on E4, will tell standalone stories by up-and-coming talent that cover – wait for it – “fifty shades of gay”. Tofu, meanwhile, is an online documentary series about sex and sexuality.

Cucumber, Banana and Tofu will launch on Channel 4, E4 and 4oD in January 2015.
