Cubs relish the road

April 22--Cubs reliever Pedro Strop posted a video during Wednesday's rain delay from the visitor's clubhouse at Busch Stadium that featured Jorge Soler anticipating some Chinese food from two boxes in front of teammate Javier Baez.

But Soler looked puzzled after learning that one of the boxes for Baez contained a hamburger.

That provided a good laugh and showed the bond between the Cubs players, especially on the road where they possess a 7-2 record.

"Our guys like each other," manager Joe Maddon said. "They enjoy each other. For 3 1/2 hours, we sat in that locker room before we came out to conclude that game, and we were ready to play.

"The whole time I'm sitting and waiting on it, it was like time passed quickly, nobody was bemoaning anything, nobody was crying and just waiting and getting ready to play."

"Of all the things that happened in St. Louis over the past three days, that was the most impressive thing we did. The fact we came out and played like we did and almost pulled it out."

The Cubs played before large crowds at Angel Stadium and Busch Stadium, so hostile environments don't seem to faze them.

"I think there are guys who like the moment," Maddon said. "I don't think we're intimidated by going to loud places. And I don't know if the Wrigley experience helps that, the fact we're playing in front of a full house."
