WASHINGTON _ Friday night's game between the Cubs and Nationals at Nationals Park was postponed following a second rain delay with two outs in the top of the second inning that lasted two hours, 55 minutes.
This marked the second delay, as the start of the game was delayed by one hour, 21 minutes, because of inclement weather.
The postponed game was rescheduled for a single admission doubleheader starting Saturday at 2:05 p.m., followed by the regularly scheduled game 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.
The Cubs mounted a rally in the first when Anthony Rizzo hit a single, and Kris Bryant was hit by a pitched, but Kyle Schwarber flied to left.
Cubs starter Jon Lester threw 14 pitches in the first.
Ben Zobrist was scratched from the Cubs' lineup due to neck stiffness.
