April 22--PITTSBURGH -- It doesn't seem to matter where Jorge Soler and Anthony Rizzo bat in the Chicago Cubs' batting order.
That's because the No. 2-4 spots in the Cubs' order has been productive recently. Soler will return to the second spot Wednesday night against Pittsburgh and starter Vance Worley.
Monday night, the combination of Soler, Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant in the 2-3-4 spots reached base 12 times. Soler and Rizzo switched places on Tuesday night, and the combination of Rizzo, Soler, Kris Bryant and Starlin Castro were a combined 9-for-18 with six runs and six RBIs.
The Cubs (8-5) have equaled their best 13-game start since 2009. They're also three games over the .500 mark since they finished the 2009 season at 83-78.
The Cubs and Detroit Tigers are the only teams in the major leagues to not lose consecutive games this season.
