Sept. 18--A six-run fifth inning Thursday enabled the Cubs to roll to a 9-6 victory over the Pirates at PNC Park. Anthony Rizzo sparked the rally with a two-run homer, marking the second consecutive season he has hit at least 30. Rizzo's home run occurred after Kyle Hendricks failed to hold a 3-0 lead, giving up three home runs, and was pulled after only three innings.
At the plate
Clayton Richard, who relieved Hendricks, ripped a two-run double during the six-run fifth. Kris Bryant paced the 17-hit attack with his second consecutive three-hit game.
On the mound
