Cubs fans give Mother Nature a standing ovation after wind shift drops temperature

More than 41,000 fans at Wrigley Field suffered through temperatures in the upper 90s Saturday afternoon to cheer on the Cubs against the Padres, and the crowd got some sweet relief in the top of the seventh inning. The wind had been blowing out to center field all game, but a sudden change in wind direction cooled down the fans sitting around the park in an instant – and they responded by breaking into a standing ovation.

The Cubs held on for a 6-5 win, but Mother Nature was the real MVP on Saturday.
