Cubs edge Orioles, 9-8, after Addison Russell's 9th-inning home run

BALTIMORE _ The Cubs, invigorated by the acquisition of prized left-hander Jose Quintana from the White Sox, scored eight runs in the first three innings. But they needed Addison Russell's tie-breaking home run with one out in the ninth to hold on for a 9-8 victory Friday night over the Orioles at muggy Oriole Park. The start of the game was delayed by 49 minutes because of rain.
