Monday’s Dodgers-Cubs game at Wrigley Field was postponed because of a forecast of inclement weather about 100 minutes before the scheduled first pitch.

The game will be made up Tuesday as part of a split doubleheader. Game 1 begins at 1:20 p.m. and the nightcap is slated to start at 6:40 p.m.. Both games are set to be seven innings.

Monday was supposed to the Dodgers’ first trip to Wrigley Field since 2019. Since then, the Dodgers have finally broken through to win a World Series, while the Cubs’ window of contention appears to be closing.

Kyle Hendricks was scheduled to face Los Angeles’ Walker Buehler to begin the set. After Buehler, the Dodgers’ rotation was lined up to have Clayton Kershaw pitch Tuesday, followed Wednesday by reigning National League Cy Young Award winner Trevor Bauer.

Before Monday’s game, the Cubs activated outfielder Joc Pederson from the 10-day injured list and optioned pitcher Keegan Thompson to the South Bend alternate site. Kris Bryant was also named the NL player of the week.
