CINCINNATI _ The Cubs didn't need the services of slugger Kris Bryant as they coasted to a 9-3 victory Wednesday night over the Reds at Great American Ball Park.
The Cubs posted a five-run rally in the fourth inning, fueled by a three-run home run by Kyle Schwarber and a two-run shot by Tommy La Stella. Bryant didn't play after getting hit on the left hand by a pitch Tuesday night that allowed La Stella to get his start.
