Cubs conduct random drawing for playoff tickets

Sept. 10--In anticipation of playoff games, the Chicago Cubs are conducting a random drawing for fans to buy single-game postseason tickets for a potential National League wild-card game and the National League Division Series at Wrigley Field.

Starting today through Sept. 23 at noon, fans can register to buy tickets for those games at www.cubs.com/postseason.

Fans who sign up for the online ticket opportunity will be informed by email if they've been selected to buy the tickets before they go on sale. The selected fans will have the opportunity to buy up to four tickets to a potential wild-card game or NL Division Series game at Wrigley, pending availability.

Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Being selected in a drawing does not guarantee the opportunity to buy tickets to a playoff game, the Cubs announced in a statement.

"We are excited to provide as many Cubs fans as possible with an opportunity to experience postseason baseball at Wrigley Field," said Colin Faulkner, the Cubs' vice president of sales and partnerships. "We encourage anyone looking for a chance to purchase limited single game postseason tickets to register for the online lottery and act quickly if their name is selected."

All registered fans who are not picked for early postseason contests will remain eligible for selection if the Cubs advance to subsequent rounds. Fans may only purchase tickets once during the postseason.

The playoff single game ticket on-sale date and pricing will be announced later.
