CHICAGO _ The Cubs failed in their attempt to stretch their winning streak to three games Tuesday night as three late-inning rallies fell short in a 2-1 loss to the Reds at breezy Wrigley Field.
Kyle Hendricks pitched six-plus shutout innings for the Cubs. Jason Heyward was stranded at third base as Jon Jay and pinch-hitter Alex Avila struck out to end the game.
