CHICAGO _ The Cubs relied on power Monday to snap a four-game losing streak, as Kris Bryant, Willson Contreras and Addison Russell each hit home runs en route to a 10-4 win over the Reds at Wrigley Field. Jason Heyward, batting in the sixth spot for the first time this season, hit a two-run double in the first inning.
Russell and Heyward provided two-out, run-scoring hits during a three-run first. Pitchers Travis Wood and Jason Hammel chipped in with pinch-hit singles.
Kyle Hendricks, coming off a 117-pitch outing against the Reds on Wednesday, pitched 100 pitches and 5 1/3 innings of one-run ball in his final start before the All-Star break. But Travis Wood allowed homers to Zack Cozart and Eugenio Suarez in the seventh.
Bryant suffered a lower left leg bruise after colliding with center fielder Albert Almora Jr. on a fly to left-center hit by Tyler Holt in the fifth. An error by rookie third baseman Jeimer Candelario led to the Reds' run in the sixth.
