BRIEF: Friday's recap: Cubs 6, Diamondbacks 0

June 04--It took some time for the Chicago Cubs to score, but once they finally did, the floodgates opened in their 6-0 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday afternoon at Wrigley Field.

The Cubs only scored one run off of Diamondback' starter Archie Bradley but had little trouble against the bullpen. The team scored five runs in the eighth inning to add on to their 1-0 lead.

Six runs were more than enough after Cubs starter John Lackey shut out the Diamondbacks hitters in 6 2/3 innings and the bullpen secured the shutout.

At the plate

Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo was 2 for 3 and gave his team a 1-0 lead when he hit an RBI double in the sixth inning.

Cubs hitters managed four hits off of Bradley, who struck out 10.

On the mound

John Lackey continued right where he left off in his last outing. The right-handed pitcher gave up no runs on five hits and struck out nine batters. The Diamondback were 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position against Cubs pitchers.
