Cuban reporter in solitary confinement

A Cuban journalist, Armando Betancourt, was arrested and placed in solitary confinement this week on a public disorder charge. He was covering the eviction of families who live on a dump and who claim police have been treating them harshly. Reporters Without Borders have called for the release of Betancourt, who writes for the Miami-based Nueva Prensa Cubana website. (Via rsf.org)
