If you haven't heard about it yet, one of the world's best ballet dancers is coming to Cardiff.

Wales Millennium Centre
has just announced the Cuban ballet dancer Carlos Acosta will be making his Welsh debut for the first night only of the production of Magia de la Danza by Ballet Nacional de Cuba. The performance will be on 5 May 2010 and tickets are set to run out fast, so get in quick.

Acosta, 36, started his dancing career with the Cuban company and became the darling of the Royal Ballet when he joined as principal artist in 2007. He hasn't stopped delighting UK audiences since being known for his strong lines, raw quality and huge leaps.

I've written in the past about the disappointment of seeing the Royal Ballet tour the world but not come to Wales – so this appearance by Costa is a real treat.

Ballet Nacional de Cuba will also perform the full length ballet Giselle on 7 and 8 May 2010. See Wales Millennium Centre website for more details.
