Cuba Gooding Jr pleads not guilty to sexual assault charges against third woman

Actor Cuba Gooding Jr has pleaded not guilty to sexual assault charges against a third woman.

The actor, 51, will be back in court in the new year after being charged with forcible touching and sexual abuse.

It relates to an alleged incident in September last year at his New York City nightclub called Lavo.

No further information was given as Gooding appeared in court on Thursday.

He has previously been charged over allegations he inappropriately touched two other women at other New York nightclubs. He denied both those charges during a court appearance last month.

Speaking outside Manhattan Supreme Court, Gooding’s lawyer Mark Heller said: “We believe without question that the case is purely a case of malicious prosecution."

Gooding’s team have criticised prosecutors for not releasing more details.

Mr Heller added: “How is [Gooding] going to defend himself if he has no itemization or detail about what he is said to have done?"

The Oscar winning actor will appear in court again on January 22.
