A CTA employee was injured Saturday when he fell from a platform while working below train tracks in the South Loop.

The 48-year-old man was working about 1:30 p.m. when he fell from a protective metal structure to a parking lot below near the Roosevelt/Wabash Station in the 1200 block of South Wabash Avenue, according to Chicago police and the transit agency.

The man was conscious when first responders arrived and was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
