CTA Red, Purple, Yellow Lines resume service after derailment near Howard

CTA Red, Purple and Yellow Line trains are running Sunday evening after an hours-long suspension due to a derailment near the Howard station.

The derailment happened about 2:45 p.m., according to the transit authority.

The Red and Purple Lines resumed service about 5:15 p.m., the CTA said, and the Yellow Line was running again about an hour later.

No further information was immediately available.
