Tonight, PAC12 rivals Colorado State and Colorado will square off in a week one matchup dubbed the Rocky Mountain Showdown. The game wil air on ESPN.
When the two schools meet at Mile High Stadium in Denver at 10:00pm ET, there will be plenty of familiar faces on the sidelines of the two schools.
Both head coaches are former Georgia coordinators, for starters. Former Georgia quarterback Mike Bobo, who was a UGA assistant from 2001-2014 (QB coach 01-06, OC 07-14), has been head coach Colorado State since 2015. In his four years at CSU, he has a 24-27 record.
On the other side of the field you’ll find former Georgia defensive coordinator Mel Tucker, who orchestrated a vicious defense that led Georgia to a national title appearance in 2017. The former Alabama defensive backs coach followed Kirby Smart to Georgia in 2016 and stuck around until 2018. He accepted the position of Colorado head coach towards the end of last season.
