Roy Hodgson is again facing a desperate dilemma as he prepares his Crystal Palace side for their third round FA Cup tie with Derby County on Sunday.
With Palace sitting pretty in the top half of the Premier League table, in any normal season they would be well worth a crack at a Cup run. Hodgson - who already operates with one of the division's smaller squads - however is hamstrung by the worst injury crisis he has faced in south London.
Mamadou Sakho is the latest to join the list, forced off with a hamstring problem at Norwich on New Year's Day, which now includes seven first team names.
The choice for Hodgson is simple. Field as strong a team as possible against the Championship side and risk further problems, Wilfried Zaha played through an injury against Norwich, or rest those vital for his Premier League campaign and face the prospect of falling at the first hurdle in the Cup.
There should be chances for a couple of youngsters, in Brandon Pierrick and Sam Woods, but beyond that Hodgson doesn't have much to choose from.
Predicted Crystal Palace XI (4-3-3): Hennessey; Kelly, Tomkins, Woods, Riedewald, Kouyate, McCarthy, Camarasa, Ayew, Pierrick, Wickham
