Roy Hodgson may have to wait to give Eberechi Eze another chance to shine when Crystal Palace visit Burnley tonight.

The Eagles playmaker - who scored his first Premier League goal after setting up one against Leeds before the international break - will be assessed by Palace medical staff after withdrawing from the England Under-21 squad.

Hodgson now has the nice dilemma of who to select at the back after James Tomkins, Joel Ward and Tyrick Mitchell returned to training this week.

Nathaniel Clyne has been covering for Ward but the former Portsmouth man has been a reliable option for Hodgson during his time in south London and is likely to return, while in the middle of the back four Cheikhou Kouyate has done nothing to suggest he deserves dropping having excelled since moving from midfield.

Predicted XI (4-4-2): Guaita; Ward, Kouyate, Cahill, Van Aanholt; Townsend, McArthur, Riedewald, Schlupp; Zaha, Ayew
