Roy Hodgson has backed Jordan Ayew to kick on at Crystal Palace after the striker started the Eagles on the way to winning their first ever Premier League game against Manchester United.
Ayew, who made his loan move from Swansea permanent over the summer after scoring just once in the League last season, struck in the first half against Man Utd, bagging his and Crystal Palace's first goal of the season.

He had been dropped to the bench for the defeat at Sheffield United last weekend, but came back into the side in place of Christian Benteke here.
"I’d like to think we’ll see a lot more from him. I think he was unlucky to lose his place against Sheffield United," Hodgson said. "There was no doubt in my mind I was going to bring him back for this game."
After a horror show at Bramall Lane, Palace players had a point to prove at Old Trafford this weekend and have left their manager reflecting on a little moment of history.
"There are only a few nuggets like that. I should certainly return my thoughts to this one," he said.
"It’s football. I think I said after the Sheffield United performance that we know that we are capable of doing.
"I deal with human beings, I don’t deal with robots and sometimes they don’t live up to their level of performance. Training this weekend has been good and I think I can be happy now we were back on track for this game."
Gary Cahill made an impressive Crystal Palace debut following his arrival over the summer, with Hodgson having decided against starting him in the opening two games.
"I had a choice to make today and three centre backs," Hodgson said. "I wanted Gary Cahill to play. I think the way the team performed the decision was justified."
