Crystal Palace warn fans found throwing objects face stadium bans

Crystal Palace have warned they will not hesitate to take action against supporters found to have thrown objects at two Leicester players during Sunday’s 2-0 defeat, with those responsible potentially set for stadium bans.

The FA have launched an investigation after Foxes goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and striker Jamie Vardy were targeted by a small section of home fans.

During the first half, some supporters in the Holmesdale Road stand began throwing objects, thought to be screwed up sheets of paper which had formed a mosaic before kick-off, at Schmeichel, while Vardy was also targeted as he celebrated scoring Leicester’s second goal.

Palace have started their own investigation and a club spokesperson said: “We are reviewing CCTV footage of the incidents and if anyone is identified throwing anything on to the pitch we will not hesitate to take action.”
