Crystal Palace vs Wolves
Premier League 2019-20
Venue: Selhurst Park
Date: Sunday 22 September, 2019
Kick-off time: 2pm BST
Crystal Palace welcome Wolves to Selhurst Park on Sunday aiming to return to winning ways after a thrashing at Tottenham on Saturday.
The Eagles have twice struggled to break down 10 men at home this term, drawing 0-0 with Everton on the opening day before squeezing out a victory somewhat fortuitously against Aston Villa before the international break.
It suggests their difficulty scoring at Selhurst Park is set to continue into the new campaign, though Jordan Ayew has discovered some form over the summer break.
Wolves have struggled to juggle Premier League football with European duties and head to south London on Sunday having hosted Braga on Thursday evening. They have just three points from their opening five fixtures in the Premier League, and their recent record against Palace reads just one win in seven.
Team news and predicted lineups
The Eagles missed midfield James McArthur in North London last weekend after the Scot failed a late fitness test on Saturday morning.
While James Tomkins made his return to the first team fold, with a place on the bench at Tottenham, his long injury lay off means a start against Wolves this weekend is unlikely.
Crystal Palace XI: Guaita; Ward, Cahill, Sakho, Van Aanholt; Townsend, Milivojevic, McArthur, Schlupp; Zaha, Ayew
Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 Wolves
Crystal Palace will be keen to banish memories of last week's humbling in Tottenham and Wolves may prove the perfect opposition. Though Palace were lucky to escape with a draw against VIlla, they have looked better in spells at Selhurst Park this term and their visitors will be weary after Thursday evening's Europa League meeting with Braga.
Before Chelsea's win over Wolves last week, Palace were the last team to win at Monlineux (January) but Wolves are a different proposition away and have the tools to sting Palace.
