When Crystal Palace face Tottenham today they will become the first club to start a top-flight campaign with four consecutive London derbies.
A quirky piece of history but capital clashes have not been good for the Eagles.
In their three League games this term they have one loss (Chelsea) and two draws (Brentford and West Ham), and in fact they are winless in their last 11 Premier League derbies (D6 L5).
To break that cycle they will have to beat the only team in the top flight with a 100 per cent record. Spurs have not been particularly exciting but three 1-0 wins have left them top of the table and yesterday earned new boss Nuno Espirito Santo the Manager of the Month award.
It has been a turbulent international break, though, for Spurs with Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero being involved in the bizarre Covid regulations row that forced Brazil v Argentina to be abandoned after five minutes. Both are not due back in England until next week.
