The Blues were nosediving down the Premier League table but that ended when Demarai Gray's late winner gave Rafa Benitez's side a dramatic 2-1 win over Arsenal at Goodison Park.
That win eased off some pressure on Benitez at the moment but it was their first win in nine league games - there is still a long way to go.
For Palace, they will be looking to return to winning ways at home after losing to Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa at Selhurst Park.
Before that, Patrick Vieira's side were unbeaten in their opening six home games of the season and are the bookies favourite to win this tie.
