Roy Hodgson has named a strong but rotated team to face Derby County and it sees the return of Gary Cahill to defence but there is no Wilfried Zaha in the match day squad.
Brandon Pierrick comes in for Palace's talisman after he made a promising debut in the second half against Norwich.
Following that match Hodgson revealed that Zaha had been struggling with injury.
He said: "Wilf was another one today that until this morning we weren’t certain he’d be able to play – he hasn’t trained since the last game. We were concerned he wouldn’t get on the field but because he’s got such a big heart for the club and such a love for football he declared himself fit, but that was a bit of a surprise to me that he declared himself fit."
That is one of five changes as Wayne Hennessey, Cheik Kouyate, Cahill, Pierrick and Connor Wickham all come into the fold to face the Rams. That comes amid the likes of Mamadou Sakho's injury but following a tough festive period, the Eagles boss always planned to make some changes.
Hodgson said: "Cup matches are unmissable opportunities to not field those players who do not feature quite as regularly in in the league due to the distinction and experience of Crystal Palace's squad. We have a great deal of highly talented footballers at our disposal and it is only through others' level of ability that not every player receives regular league minutes"
