Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson does not have a lot to do to better last year's results against arch rivals Brighton & Hove Albion.
Palace lost both Premier League matches against the Seagulls despite finishing above their rivals last season. They suffered a 3-1 away defeat despite Brighton going down to 10-man after attempting to headbutt Patrick van Aanholt.
That was followed up with a 2-1 loss at Selhurst Park with former striker Glenn Murray opening the scoring before Anthony Knockaert found the winner.
And no it is not a derby!
The Pools had a chat with Scott Trotter ahead of Monday night's match:
Recommended bets:
Win, lose or draw?
It's going to be a tight affair with plenty of history between the teams as well as some promising starts to the season. I see a score draw ( 16/5 ).
Who's a good bet for first goalscorer?
Former Eagle Glenn Murray ( 11/2 ) opened the scoring in both matches last year but hasn't seen the Brighton starting XI much of late. If Palace start quickly Jordan Ayew ( 11/2 ) could nip one in.
Who's on the naughty step? (first card)
Going off their records this season it could be a bit of a race between Luka Milivojevic and Lewis Dunk. The Serbian might look to set the tone early in the midfielder and pick up a yellow for firm effort.
Who's on pens?
Luka Milivojevic ( 14/5 ) once again. The midfielder has already bagged two goals from the spot this season against Norwich City and Arsenal. The fans would love to see him score against Brighton's Maty Ryan for a second time too.
Will your team keep a clean sheet?
It's certainly within their capability ( 9/5 ) given recent results but I have just got a feeling the Seagulls could grab one ( 2/5 ).
