Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa betting preview: How a score draw can more than triple your stake

Roy Hodgson has dubbed Aston Villa as "dangerous opponents" ahead of their Premier League clash at Selhurst Park.

The former England manager will be hoping for his side to bounce back from their defeat against Colchester United in the Carabao Cup.

Villa meanwhile will be looking to add to their first Premier League win of the season after seeing off Everton 2-0 last week.

Football.london's Robert Warlow spoke to thepools.com before this weekend's fixture to talk all things Palace.

Win, lose or draw?

Draw. Palace are a mixed bag at the moment, but still can't buy a win at home.

A draw seems like a fair result on paper between these two and it is 14/5 with thepools.com.

Who's a good bet for 1st scorer?

Jordan Ayew netted the first goal for Palace last weekend, but the time is now for Wilfried Zaha to net his first of the season.

Ayew is 7/1 to find the net first while Zaha is 11/5 anytime.

Who's on the naughty step? (first card)

Gary Cahill. He has played twice for Palace, and been booked in both games. That could easily become three this week.

Who's on pen?

Luka Milivojevic. No change there - he's 11/5 to score anytime and 6/1 as first goalscorer.

Will your team keep a clean sheet?

No. Palace don't concede many, but I can see Villa getting a goal and it finishing 1-1.

A score draw is 16/5 with thepools.com meaning it is more than triple your stake. The 1-1 prediction is on offer at 5/1.
