Crystal Palace transfer news: Jordan Ayew agrees loan move to Eagles as Palace move focus to outgoings

Crystal Palace FC have agreed a loan deal for Swansea's wantaway attacker Jordan Ayew.

The versatile Ghanaian does not feature in the plans of new Swansea boss Graham Potter, but a swap deal to take Ayew to Selhurst Park permanently fell through last week after Jairo Riedewald turned down the opportunity to move to the Championship.

Palace explored other options in the market but stayed in the mix for Ayew, with Swansea eventually convinced to part with the player on a temporary basis. The Eagles are understood to have the option of making the move permanent in January.

Fulham had been following Ayew all summer and had a £7m bid rejected for the former Marseille man earlier in the off-season. Swansea had hoped to raise £12m by selling the 26-year-old forward.

Steve Parish, the Crystal Palace chairman, confirmed on Sky Sports on Wednesday night that the club would not be changing their firm stance over selling star man Wilfried Zaha, but they will turn their attention to outgoings as deadline day wears on.

Pape Souare, Sullay Kaikai and Jonny Williams are among those who could leave the club permanently or on loan, though those moves could still come after Thursday's deadline. Should Newcastle United's late interest in Riedewald not solidify then the former Ajax man can still move to a club on the continent before the European deadline of August 31st.
