Crystal Palace tracking Odsonne Edouard, Eberechi Eze and Ollie Watkins as they step up striker search

Crystal Palace are stepping up their search for a striker after securing the signing of Nathan Ferguson.

The 19-year-old full-back, whose move to south London collapsed in January, is the first arrival in what is set to be a busy window for Palace as focus now turns to addressing their lack of bite up top.

The Eagles continue to track Celtic's Odsonne Edouard, Queens Park Rangers youngster Eberechi Eze and Brentford's Ollie Watkins, who finished one goal shy of the Championship's top goalscorer, Aleksandar Mitrovic, on 25 this season.

Palace's goalscoring record has been a problem across Roy Hodgson's tenure, but the issue was brought into sharp focus this season after the club failed to replace Michy Batshuayi following his successful loan stint at Selhurst Park during the 2018-19 campaign.

Jordan Ayew has impressed from out wide but struggled when deployed through the middle, Wilfried Zaha has managed just four goals while Christian Benteke has also toiled in front of goal during an injury-hit season.

Only relegated Norwich have scored fewer goals than Palace's 30 this term, but Hodgson and Palace are now pushing to solve the problem with a fresh face to lead the line.
