Crystal Palace to face Watford in FA Cup quarter-final

Crystal Palace have been drawn against Watford in this year's FA Cup quarter-final.

Roy Hodgson’s men booked their spot in the last eight with a routine 2-0 victory away at League One Doncaster on Sunday, thanks to goals from Jeffrey Schlupp and Max Meyer.

Prior to that, the Eagles knocked out London rivals Tottenham in the fourth round, having squeezed past Grimsby in round three.

The clash will be Palace’s second quarter-final in four seasons, with their last run to this stage, under Alan Pardew in 2015/16, eventually ending in Wembley heartache – a 2-1 cup final defeat to Manchester United.

Victory would send Palace back to the national stadium for the semi-final, the ground where they also won promotion to the Premier League with playoff final victory over Watford in 2013.

Hodgson, who became the oldest manager in Premier League history this weekend, has never been beyond this stage, having lost both of his previous quarter-finals, in consecutive seasons with Fulham.
