Crystal Palace target Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke in January transfer window

Crystal Palace are interested in signing Liverpool forward Dominic Solanke on loan in January.

Roy Hodgson wants to add more firepower to his squad, who have scored just 14 goals in the Premier League this season, and could launch a move for the England Under-21.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is also said to be interested in Solanke, who has not featured for Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp this season.

Palace hope the way Ruben Loftus-Cheek developed during his loan at Selhurst Park last season will help convince the 21-year-old Solanke to move to London.

Palace, who are three points above the bottom three after their 1-0 win against Leicester, have limited money to spend in January and the loan signing of Solanke is an attractive option.

Part of the England squad that won the Under-20 World Cup in 2017, Solanke left Chelsea to join Liverpool that summer.

He made his England senior debut in November of that year when he came on as a late substitute against Brazil at Wembley but he has struggled for regular football since then.
