Crystal Palace target Hearts wonderkid as Sorloth is linked with shock £9m Man United transfer

Despite Premier League football currently on pause until at least April 30, the transfer rumour mill is running overtime.

UEFA could potentially provide an update on the current situation, with a vital meeting scheduled for April 1 to discuss how to complete the remaining fixtures across Europe’s major leagues.

However, until then, supporters are likely to have to sift through transfer gossip stories, with Roy Hodgson’s side linked to a host of new faces in the last 24 hours.

Premier League consider 'World Cup-style camp' to finish season

Here we have your latest Crystal Palace news.

Sorloth linked with shock Man United transfer

Manchester United are considering a surprise £9M move for Palace striker Alexander Sorloth this summer, according to reports in the Metro.

The 24-year old has just one goal to his name as a Palace player, following a high profile from Danish club FC Midtjylland in 2017.

However, his form on loan at Turkish side Trabzonspor has catapulted him back into the limelight, after netting 25 goals in all competitions so far in 2019-20.

But despite this upturn in form, Palace are happy for him to leave Selhurst Park this summer, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side now on red alert over a possible move.

Trabzonspor do have a purchase option available as part of his loan deal at the Super Lig club, at a reduced price of £5.25M, but the lure of a second crack at the Premier League could be tempting for the Norwegian international.

Palace target Hearts full-back

Roy Hodgson has reportedly targeted his full-back positions as a key area for improvement this summer, with a number of names already linked with moves Selhurst Park.

Reports from the Daily Mail have flagged up Hearts full-back Aaron Hickey as a possible option to come in, due to his versatility cover at both right and left-back next season.

The Scottish youth international has been used on both sides of defence by Hearts boss Daniel Stendel so far this season, with 30 appearances in all competitions for the Jam Tarts.

And with the Scottish Premiership side announcing a 50% wage cut for first-team players earlier this week, due to the ongoing Covid 19 shutdown, Hickey could be available for a reduced fee.

However, Palace will need to act quickly, with Southampton, Celtic and Everton also reported to be monitoring the 17-year old.

Jedinak makes Premier League return

Ex Eagles midfielder Mile Jedinak has apparently joined the coaching staff at Aston Villa, according to fan site Villa Report, via Football Fancast.

The former Australian international has been without a club since his release from Villa at the end of last season.

However, despite not officially announcing his retirement as a player, Twitter has been buzzing with news that the 35-year old has opted to hang up his boots for a coaching position in the West Midlands.

Jedinak ensured legendary status with the Palace faithful after taking over the captaincy at the start of the 2021-13 season and leading the club back into the Premier League via the play-offs.

He went on to make over 100 top flight appearances for the club, before leaving to join Villa in 2016.
